This 75-minute virtual workshop will explore the integration of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills and creative arts therapy interventions in support of LGBTQIA+ clients. The session will focus on the application of DBT techniques such as distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness and how these can be meaningfully combined with creative arts therapy practices.
In addition to practical strategies, the facilitators will address systemic and identity-related considerations relevant to working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, with an emphasis on fostering authenticity, resilience, and connection within the therapeutic process.
Participants will gain insight into how DBT and creative arts therapy can be used together to support the emotional and relational needs of LGBTQIA+ clients, offering tools that can be integrated into clinical and community-based practices.
